It’s April and the sun is finally shining upon this lovely state. Finally.
As happy as I am to be rolling into fairer weather, I also realized that I have a whopping 4 days to complete Songbird’s bedroom if I stick to my original (self-imposed) April 10th deadline. YIPES! While I have been diligently working in there, I haven’t been good at putting together any posts about my progress.
Here’s where I’m at:
Still a lot to get done – especially building the bed! Pray the nice weather holds out long enough for me to get my saw outside.
The mock-up shows a majority of the room, but today I wanted to share this little wall by her door. Since I’ve angled her highboy dresser in the corner, it creates an awkward wall space. But after seeing these acrylic floating shelves, I knew exactly how to make that space work for us.
Each shelf is 36″ long, 3.5″ deep and attaches easily with two drywall anchors and screws.
Hanging them below the light switch ensures that Songbird can reach all her books with ease.
Sturdy enough to hold a LOT of titles, which is good news for my little bookworm.
At $13.50 each, they are a clever, affordable alternative to traditional bookshelves. Not to mention how much I adore the illusion of floating books – just look at all the floor space we saved!
