When I finally upgraded my iphone after 4 years, Handsome kindly offered me his unused Otterbox case for it. Call me picky, but those tactical all-weather encasements are just too hard core for me. Not to mention bulky … and slightly offensive to my aesthetic personality.
For 4 years my other phone survived frequent drops and kid shenanigans unscathed in a simple silicone rubber case and adhesive screen protector. There are lots of customizable cases online these days, but most of them are printed directly onto the plastic itself and therefore permanent.
I wanted something totally personal AND interchangeable AND inexpensive that also does an excellent job of actually protecting my phone.
Enter the clear silicone ‘Slim Jelly’ case by LAZA. Unlike similar cases on the market this one is crystal clear – no frosted finish whatsoever. I picked it up on Amazon for $11 and, since I ordered a few other things at the same time, shipping was free too.
I created a template for an insert to go between the back of the phone and case. You can download and print the template for free HERE. This pattern is specifically for the LAZA iphone 5/5s case and may not work with other brands.
Silhouette users can utilize the “trace” function to import the shape into your library and task your machine to do the cutting for you.
Otherwise, print the template on letter-sized cardstock and cut with scissors or an X-acto knife to make a traceable pattern.
One phone, endless personalities!
Long gone are the days of “wallet sized” brag photos.
Calenders, gift bags, maps, wallpaper… all fair game!
I’m currently rockin’ this festive metallic wrapping paper.
But by far my most favorite inserts are those handcrafted by little hands just for me!
* This case and a few creative inserts would make for thoughtful, personalized gift-giving!
