Hard to believe that in only a couple short months, we will have lived in this house a whole year already! Part of me feels we have accomplished a lot in that year. Part of me, not-so-much.
We essentially moved into a white box and have spent most of our free time painting and decorating the main living spaces; which means the bedrooms have been entirely neglected. Bug is too small to care about his space, but it does pain me a little to have Songbird’s room be so stark. This bedroom does no justice to her vibrant personality.
I always joke that the most useful class I ever took in college was one semester of Intro to Graphic Design, where I learned to use Photoshop.
But seriously, it was.
While I’m better than most at visualizing what a room will look like when it’s done, I can’t help but fire up my trusty Photoshop to mock up the design elements that are floating around in my head. I find it much easier to try out an idea digitally than to do it for reals and hate it. So, without further adieu, I give you my grand plan for Songbird’s room!
You might be thinking that’s a lot of work! And you’d be right. So please be understanding when, for the next 2 months, a LOT of my posts will revolve around the numerous projects that this room will require.
My goal is to complete her bedroom before April 10th – our first house-iversary!
Wish me luck.
